About Anna
Anna began her studies in Psychology at University College Dublin where she completed an Honours Bachelors degree in Psychology. It was during this time that she developed an interest in psychotherapy and she went on to specialise in this area, completing an accredited Masters degree in Counselling Psychology at Trinity College Dublin in 1996.
Over the subsequent years Anna has worked in private counselling practice and also in third level education, where she lectured and trained counsellors, psychologists, nurses and other caring professionals. Now living and working in Sligo, Anna provides counselling and psychotherapy to adult clients from around the North West of Ireland.
As a Registered Member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI), Anna offers a service that complies with the PSI Code of Ethical Practice and current standards of best practice.
In her work she delivers a professional, confidential counselling and psychotherapy service that is underpinned by a deep sense of care and respect for each client. Typical presenting issues include stress, anxiety, isolation, alienation, depression, bereavement, loss, coping with change, relationship issues, family problems, and issues of abuse. Anna’s approach to therapy specifically addresses a client’s own personal goals, and typically creates a greater understanding of concerns, a reduction in levels of distress and brings about constructive life changes.
